Paraffin Waxes
Paraffin wax has been the industry standard wax for many years. We use several grades of paraffin wax with for our pillar, container and hurricane candles. Easy to work with paraffin waxes are available in various melt points for different candle making applications
Natural Waxes
On a Wick have been making candles with natural waxes for many years and have a range of waxes suitable for container and pillar candles. We have 3 different soy based waxes as well as a E.U produced GM free rapeseed container blend as well as several specialist plant waxes
Beeswax and Stearin
Beeswax is produced by bees as a byproduct of the honey making process. Because it is infused with honey during its creation it naturally has a sweet fragrance which will vary slightly depending on what flowers or plants the bees are feeding on. After it is harvested from the beehive it is melted and filtered several times. We supply beeswax in "pastilles" (little pellets) which melt very easily in natural and bleached beeswax. Palm Stearin is a useful additive to wax that increases the depth of the colours, reduces dripping and improves burning. It also increases the tendency of the paraffin wax to shrink, making removing candles from rigid moulds much easier
